Toronto Taste Second Harvest Food Rescue 2018
Toronto's annual landmark culinary event, Toronto Taste 2018 raised enough funds to provide over 1.9 million meals for those experiencing food insecurity in the city. The proceeds help Second Harvest, Canada's largest food rescue charity, deliver fresh food to 253 social service agency partners.
"In one night: over 70 chefs; 30 beverage purveyors; 60 sponsors; 400 volunteers and 1,500 guests came together to raise funds in support of Second Harvest"
Guests and I, sampled dishes from the city's best culinary talent, including title holders from Canada's 100 Best Restaurants 2018: La Banane (Best New Restaurant), Café Boulud (#42 Best Restaurant), Grey Gardens (#43 Best Restaurant) as well as a Live / Silent Auction and the Chef’s Challenge finale, Iron Chef style !
'SHARE IN THE BELIEF THAT ‘GOOD FOOD SHOULDN’T GO TO WASTE WHILE PEOPLE IN OUR CITY GO HUNGRY EVERY DAY!’
… so not only did my ‘eyes taste’ all, OK OK some of the culinary delights, my taste buds actually got to get in on the actions this year and it definitely did not disappoint !!
